Will You Cook for me?
Dinner performance and a cookery book.
In 2005 I asked my father to cook a large dinner as a performance and he agreed. The dinner for 40 people was a combination of Eastern European cooking mixed with Middle Eastern cooking. Daniel Ashery is a fantastic cook and I have produced a cookery book with all his recipes including salads, light meals, pickles and main courses, there are also other text and images relating to family history and the culture of cooking in Israel in the book. The book is currently a one-off, but it will be re-produced as part of a Welcome Home publication.
The performance took place at Home, Salon 37, as part of the Cooking Culture series.
